Why choose BSAC?
The British Sub Aqua Club is recognised around the world for its high standard of training. Founded over 50yrs ago, with 1000 + clubs and over 45000 members worldwide it is the largest single diving club in the world. Training under the BSAC club based system allows you to go at a pace that suits you while enjoying all the benefits of a club atmosphere. Click on the BSAC link for more information
How much does it cost?
For new members who are learning to dive the initial cost is £267 which covers your ECSAC membership, membership to BSAC, training pack, initial joining fee and covers the cost of your training.

Prices for qualified divers wishing to join us are in the region of £200 - £250 depending on the grade, additional training requirements and if a crossover course
is required.

Annual membership fees for renewing adult members are £127 plus £50 BSAC Membership. Contact us for more detailed information if needed.
How old do I have to be to start diving ?
To dive under the BSAC system you need to be 12 or over. We do ask that the parents of our younger members also join the club and accompany the child on club trips. Annual social membership costs just £30.

Children younger than 12 can join our snorkelling section. See the snorkelling page for full details.
What do I need?
Swimming costume, a t-shirt and a towel are all you need to start, but you may wish to buy your own mask and fins. We will provide all your training kit while you train to Ocean Diver. When you qualify we encourage you to buy your own kit to suit your personal needs.
Can I dive abroad?
Yes. BSAC qualifications are accepted and recognised around the world for their high standards.
Do I need to be a good swimmer?
No, but as with all water sports it helps to be comfortable in the water. Your equipment is designed to provide buoyancy while on the surface and your training will teach you how to make the most of it while diving.
Where do you dive?
The club regularly dives at sites all over the uk and abroad. Last year our UK trips included Anglesey, Loch Fyne, The Isles of Scilly, Mull, The Farne Isles, Scapa Flow.
